Baby step

How long has it been? Almost two months since our first trip and still no word on the court date. Today we learned that a judge has finally been assigned to our case and our coordinator Natalia will be contacting him on Monday about the court date. Hang in there, Nina Deanna. We love you and hope to be coming for you soon!

  1. Hi there. Me again. I did not realise there was only a couple of posts since you left. I am sorry you have not received a court date yet - that is very frustrating. I can only imagine how you feel, very hard being so far away from your little Nina. I had heard things had changed since our time there. My husband, daughter and I went over together in April, we got court 10 days after the bonding period ended, my husband and daughter returned to Toronto after court while I waited it out in Almaty to spring Orin - I ran into a couple of delays (passport office was shut down for corruption) and all in all I was in Kaz for 9 weeks............but now I realise that is short compared to your journey.

Am delighted I have found your blog and I look forward to offering support along the way. I have to say your Nina looks very healthy - when we were in Kaz the Karakastek babies were tiny. Orin was 13 pounds at 12 months old. I am happy to report today he is full of life, it totally on track with where he should be and is so so full of life (we still joke as his caretaker Nassia at Kasakastek told us she would always remember him as a calm good natured baby - NOT!! He is a little piston who does not stop!!

    Take care.
